Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine’s Radiology – Breast Imaging department is seeking a Mammography Technologist III to produce breast radiographs under the direction of a Radiologist. This onsite role serves the greater Chicagoland area from Hyde Park.

Essential duties include imaging, patient education, data collection, and maintaining regulatory compliance, with a strong emphasis on communication and accuracy. A 100% onsite work environment with potential sign-on bonus up to $15,000.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency required.
• ARRT certified in Mammography.
• ARRT in Breast Ultrasound or ARDMS.
• ISCD or ARRT in Bone Densitometry OR 5 years of relevant experience and proficient in Automated Breast Ultrasound.
• ARRT or ARDMS in Breast Ultrasound.
• Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Produce breast radiographs under the direction of a Radiologist.
• Perform breast ultrasounds as directed by Breast Radiologist.
• Assist physician in set-up and performance of breast interventional procedures.
• Recognize report and document malfunctions of technical equipment.
• Assist in training of new staff and student technologists.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory certifying agencies and infection control regulations.
• Perform bone densitometry or automated breast ultrasound exams where applicable.
• Other duties as requested by Lead Technologist and Department Manager.
