Job summary

Qualifications

• ARRT certification and state licensure are required or preferred per location.
• BLS certification is required at hire for certain locations.
• Associates degree from ARRT-accredited institute preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient's clinical history and document lab work for use by licensed practitioner.
• Position patient to best demonstrate the area of interest, ensuring comfort.
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories.
• Verify informed consent and complete pre/post procedure documentation.
• Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and radiography procedures with aseptic technique.
• Conduct timeout as per policy.
• Identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed.

Education

Associates from ARRT accredited institute (preferred)

ARRT Certification and Registration in Diagnostic Radiology (required)

State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state)

BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
