Job summary

Highmark Health’s Allegheny Health Network seeks a radiology technologist to perform imaging procedures with minimal supervision and ensure high quality results. You will position patients, select exposure factors, and administer contrast when ordered, while maintaining strict safety and documentation standards.

The role emphasizes patient education, quality control, and timely reporting of scan results, with a focus on accuracy and compliance within a busy imaging department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• ARRT Radiography certification required within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Background clearances: Act 34, Act 33, Act 73 and FBI fingerprinting as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify issues with image quality.
• Reposition patient and retake images as needed.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.
• Review patient history and educate patient about procedures and equipment.
• Prepare and administer contrast media/medications as appropriate.
• Prepare equipment, select exposure factors, and perform quality control.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform other duties as assigned.
