Job summary

Arkansas Children's is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform quality radiographs and patient care across main hospital and off-site clinics. The position requires ARRT(R) certification within 12 months of hire and RTL licensure by the Arkansas Department of Health.

A sign-on bonus and pediatric experience are highlighted in the program. Responsibilities include image acquisition, patient screening, equipment setup, and ensuring safety and QC standards are met while supporting regional

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
• ARRT R certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date or eligibility.
• RTL license - Arkansas Department of Health must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Developing skills to perform quality radiographs and patient care.
• May be required to work in both main hospital setting and off-site clinic locations.
• Infrequent travel may be required to cover regional clinic x-ray services.
• Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following QC and data integrity workflow expectations.
• Demonstrates correct radiographic techniques and positioning and ensures exam rooms and equipment are prepared.

Description

Developing skills to performs quality radiographs and patient care. May be required to work in both main hospital setting and off-site clinic locations. Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC and exam data integrity workflow expectations.

• Demonstrates increasing knowledge of correct & acceptable radiographic techniques & positioning, in operating all equipment and sets up room/equipment appropriate for exam ordered.
• Is learning to complete patient screening with attention to pregnancy, contrast and any contraindications, as well as understanding and utilizing contrast forms for contrast exams.
• Utilize designated communication devices and respond appropriately.
• Demonstrates increasing knowledge of all emergency equipment/supplies.
• Raises concerns related to patient care, patient safety or patient satisfaction to supervisor and leadership in a timely manner.
• Ensures work area is properly maintained.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
