Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Charlotte, NC, is hiring for a full-time Radiology Transporter (X-ray) in the Carolinas Medical Center: Mercy radiology department. The role requires escorting patients, coordinating with paging and phone systems, and assisting with patient transfers.

Eligible for sign-on bonus based on eligibility; benefits are included. Weekend night schedule Friday–Sunday 7pm–7am; 36 hours/week; pay range $28.55-$42.85.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff.
• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology program.
• Certification/License: registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date. BLS required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and needs of patients served.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients, guests, and visitors to destinations using ambulatory devices, beds, cribs, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Knowledge and appropriate use of hospital paging system.
• Uses hospital telephone system for transport tracking, to accept orders, and to complete jobs.
• Assists nursing and clinical staff with transferring patients from bed to transport equipment.
• Transports and orients admissions to rooms.
• Provides directional information to guests and family members about patient location.
• Verifies outpatient registration and transports to departments or clinics.
• Retrieves, cleans, and stores unused transport equipment.
