Job summary

Mercy Health in Boardman, OH is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging under supervision, with a 32-hour weekly schedule and afternoons/nights shift. This role includes a $25,000 sign-on bonus and competitive pay.

The technologist will ensure patient safety, obtain clinical histories, position patients, apply radiation protection, operate imaging equipment, and document procedures. ARRT certification and state licensure as required/preferred; BLS at hire.

Qualifications

• Associates degree (preferred, ARRT-accredited)
• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• State licensure (preferred)
• BLS certification (required at hire for Mercy Health locations; preferred later)
• 1 year radiology safety and patient-care experience (preferred)
• Experience with Radiology Information System (RIS) preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and appropriate lab work for licensed practitioner
• Positions and immobilizes patient for imaging with patient comfort in mind
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories
• Verifies informed consent and completes documentation
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and radiography procedures; follows aseptic technique
• Performs timeout as required per policy
• Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed
