Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform radiographs for diagnostic purposes under radiologist direction. The role requires data collection, patient communication, and adherence to imaging protocols.

Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, administering contrast when needed, and ensuring proper documentation and image transfer to PACS for interpretation. Strong multitasking and teamwork in a busy radiology department are essential.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a (JRCERT) accredited Radiologic Technology Program recognized by ARRT.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, and sound judgment.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

  • Regular, consistent, on-site, and timely attendance.
  • Collect pertinent data about the patient and procedure; reconfirm patient identification and physician's order.
  • Provide information to the patient about the procedure and obtain informed consent.
  • Analyze information and determine optimal imaging parameters per diagnosis.
  • Administer contrast agents according to guidelines and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Set/adjust radiographic equipment and position patients for diagnostic images.
  • Send images to PACS for interpretation by radiologist and archive as needed.
  • Document patient care, exam history, and orders in RIS/HIS.
  • Coordinate patient care with other imaging departments and maintain equipment and workspace.
