Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Port Huron, MI is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging studies and ensure patient comfort. You will operate X-ray equipment, position patients, and deliver accurate results in accordance with established policies and laws.

The position requires ARRT certification, graduation from an AMA-approved radiology program, and BLS certification. This is a full-time, on-site role with weekend hours and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology required.
• ARRT certification in general radiologic technology required.
• Current BLS certification and/or Canadian equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to foster comfort and meet individual needs.
• Operate and maintain imaging department equipment including X-Ray.
• Position patients and use radiologic equipment to capture requested images.
• Perform imaging exams per physician orders and notify on-duty physician of results.
• Complete quality assurance and follow radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure.
• Maintain all documentation and records in paper and electronic formats.
• Ensure adequate supplies for testing and routine maintenance of imaging equipment.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Gives straight-forward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
• Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray.
• Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
• Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
• Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
• Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
• Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
• Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or GED
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology
• Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Current BLS certification and/or Canadian equivalent

Preferred

• Associate’s Degree in radiology
