Job summary

Winner Regional is seeking a Radiologic Technologist who will administer various radiographic, mammographic, and CT procedures required by attending physicians. This role requires current ARRT registration and performing responsibilities under the supervision of the Radiology Director.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, providing patient care, using department equipment, and maintaining strict compliance with safety protocols. The position requires rotating shifts and may involve exposure to communicable diseases.

Qualifications

  • Current ARRT registration with continuous education requirements maintained.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, combative patients, and radiation may occur.
  • TB test, drug screening, rubella titer, and immunizations required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, supplies; observe and report during procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and contrast agents for fluoroscopic X-rays.
  • Administer IV contrast; position patients and explain procedures.
  • Perform quality control and charting for computed tomography examinations.
  • Use department computer for scheduling, requisition entry, and billing.
  • Answer phone calls and interact with physicians, staff, and patients.

Radiologic Technologist

Department: Radiology

Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist administers radiographic, mammographic, fluoroscopic, and computed tomography procedures as requested by attending physicians. Under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Supervisor the technologist operates radiation‑producing equipment, follows proper radiation protection principles, and interacts effectively with patients, family members, physicians, and staff. The RT must possess proficiency in all diagnostic areas of the Radiology Department, maintain patient confidentiality, adhere to facility policies, and participate in quality assurance and quality management procedures.

Education / Experience

High School Diploma. Completion of formal radiographic technology training in an AMA‑approved school.

Required Credentials (Licensure, Certification, or Registration)

Current ARRT registration, with continuous education requirements maintained.

Employment Variables

Work hours include rotating shifts, weekends and holidays. The technologist may be exposed to communicable diseases, combative patients, and radiation. Call coverage required. TB test, drug screening, rubella titer, and immunizations required. Name tag and dress code compliance required.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic X‑Ray: Prepare exam rooms, equipment, supplies; observe and report during procedures; adapt to STAT orders; demonstrate radiation protection; perform procedures in ER, OR, hospital and portable settings.
  • Fluoroscopic X‑Rays / Contrast: Prepare equipment and contrast agents; administer IV contrast; position patients and explain procedures; obtain consent.
  • Computed Tomography Examinations: Apply cross‑sectional anatomy knowledge; evaluate patient symptoms; manage intravenous contrast; follow procedures and protocols; interact with supervising radiologist; perform quality control and charting.
  • Professionalism: Share workload, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, maintain dress code, ensure patient identification, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clerical Responsibilities: Use department computer for scheduling, requisition entry, billing, film tracking, and supply ordering; assist at reception and image room.
  • Quality Control: Perform daily maintenance, follow protocols, attend QC in‑services.
  • Communication: Answer phone calls and pagers; schedule procedures; interact with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Patient Interactions: Verify identification, provide directions, maintain privacy, adjust procedures as needed, and manage patient condition during exams.
  • Working Relationships: Build good relationships with coworkers, patients, and families; positively influence others and manage stressful situations.
