Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree in radiology.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures clearly to comfort patients and ensure needs are met.
• Operate and maintain imaging department equipment including X-Ray.
• Position patients to correctly capture images as ordered by a physician.
• Perform all imaging exams per policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; notify physician on duty of results.
• Complete quality assurance and follow radiation safety practices to reduce exposure.

Job description

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies & procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Gives straight-forward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
2. Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray.
3. Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
4. Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
5. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma or GED
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology
• Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Current BLS certification

Preferred:

• Associate’s Degree in radiology
