Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Mount Clemens, MI, is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform a variety of imaging procedures in the Diagnostic Radiology department. The role requires working under general supervision while delivering high quality images and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining all imaging equipment, positioning patients, following safety and QA procedures, and documenting results.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA‑approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification.

  • Gives straightforward explanations and instructions to foster comfort and confidence for patients.
  • Operates and maintains all imaging department equipment including x‑ray.
  • Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to capture images as ordered by a physician.
  • Performs imaging exams accurately in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; notifies physician on duty of results.
  • Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure.
  • Maintains documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Maintains adequate supplies to perform quality testing.
  • Performs routine maintenance and checks following protocol for all imaging equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education

High school diploma or GED
AMA‑approved school of radiology technology
ARRT certification in general radiologic technology
Current BLS certification
Associate degree in radiology

Shift: FT Days - 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Position Summary

Performs a variety of imaging procedures consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Gives straightforward explanations and instructions to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
  • Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to x‑ray.
  • Positions patients and uses radiologic equipment to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
  • Accurately performs all imaging exams as ordered in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
  • Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
  • Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
  • Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA‑approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in radiology.
