Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care in Boardman, Oregon is seeking a Radiology Tech to join Diagnostic Imaging. You will perform radiographic procedures, prepare patients, and ensure image quality for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Requirements include an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, OBMI and ARRT registration, current BLS, and 0–2 years’ experience preferred. Schedule: Fri–Sun 7am–7pm; compensation listed; benefits provided.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiography procedures

  • Positions patient and equipment for optimal images
  • Implements aseptic techniques as needed
  • Obtains informed consent for procedures as applicable
  • Assists licensed practitioners with interventional procedures
  • Maintains patient care and comfort throughout procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Title: Radiology Tech

Department: Diagnostic Imaging

Reports to: Diagnostic Imaging Manager, Assistant Manager

Compensation: Min $35.89 - Max $60.09

Schedule: Fri - Sun/ 7am - 7pm

Definition of Position:

Provides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Performs diagnostic radiography procedures
  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
  • Prepares patient for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Selects and operates radiography equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
  • Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination.
  • Determines radiographic technique exposure factors, minimizing exposure to patient and others.
  • Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  • Verifies informed consent for, and assists a licensed practitioner with, interventional procedures.
  • Practices aseptic techniques as necessary.
  • Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.
  • In agreement with state statute(s) and/or where institutional policy permits; prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
  • The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:

Required: Associate or bachelor’s degree from Radiologic Technology accredited program.

Preferred: NA

Licenses/ certifications/ registrations:

Required: OBMI and ARRT registered Radiologic technologist. Current BLS certification.

Preferred: NA

Experience:

Required: None.

Preferred: Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
