Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technician to join the team. The role involves reviewing orders, educating patients, administering contrast media within scope, and monitoring patient conditions across rotating/primarily day shifts.

Candidates should hold WV State Radiation Operators license or a temporary license and ARRT certification within 6 months of hire; 1 year experience is preferred. Comprehensive benefits and career growth are offered.

• Graduate of Program in Discipline is required or validated by current licensure.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred as an additional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding.
• Prepare contrasting media and medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes as appropriate.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Ensure safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.

How you'll contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepare equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.

What we're looking for

• Education: Graduate of Program in Discipline - required or validated by current licensure. Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• Licenses: (WV) State Radiation Operators License or Temporary (WV) State Radiation Operators license
• Certifications: ARRT within 6 months of hire; BCLS within 90 days of hire
• Experience: ARRT should have one year of experience (preferred only).
• Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
