Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform sonographic examinations and support patient care. You will maintain equipment, ensure clean work areas, and provide age-appropriate care while collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure accurate scans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology.
• ARRT licensure or graduate from an accredited DMS program.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year DMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician.
• Maintains supplies and a clean, orderly work area; notifies supervisor of needed items.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment for accuracy and longevity.
• Provides age-appropriate care to patients.
• Collaborates with physicians and staff to ensure accurate scans.

How You'll Contribute

An Ultrasound Tech who excels in this role:

• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician delivery of care and services
• Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area. Notifies supervisor of needed items
• Maintains equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patients
• Acts as a physician/staff consultant and educational resources for appropriateness and accuracy of scans

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology Required
• Licenses: American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Other; Graduate from an accredited DMS program OR DMS Certification.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
• Experience: ARRT should have one year of DMS experience (preferred only).
• Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
