Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound Tech to join the Imaging Services team on a PRN basis. You will perform sonographic examinations, maintain equipment and supplies, and provide age-appropriate patient care while serving as a clinical resource for scan accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology required.
• Licenses: ARRT or equivalent; Graduate from an accredited DMS program or DMS certification.
• Certifications: BLS to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: ARRT should have one year of DMS experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician.
• Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area; notifies supervisor of needed items.
• Maintains equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
• Acts as a physician/staff consultant and educational resource for appropriateness and accuracy of scans.

What we're looking for

• Education: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology Required

• Licenses: American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Other; Graduate from an accredited DMS program OR DMS Certification.

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire

• Experience: ARRT should have one year of DMS experience (preferred only).

• Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
