Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV seeks a Radiology Technologist to join our imaging team. This full-time role offers a rotating schedule with day shifts and opportunities to work across diverse imaging modalities while patient care remains our top priority.

As a Radiology Tech you will review orders, educate patients, prepare contrast if needed, set exposure factors, ensure safety and image quality, and report results.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Program in Discipline - required or validated by current licensure.
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
• WV State Radiation Operators License or Temporary license.
• ARRT within 6 months of hire; BCLS within 90 days of hire.
• One year of ARRT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepare equipment and supplies.
• Select exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedure(s).
• Analyze results and identify issues with image quality; take action to resolve.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.

How You'll Contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepare equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of Program in Discipline - required or validated by current licensure. Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• Licenses: (WV) State Radiation Operators License or Temporary (WV) State Radiation Operators license
• Certifications: ARRT within 6 months of hire; BCLS within 90 days of hire
• Experience: ARRT should have one year of experience (preferred only).
• Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
