Job summary

Carbon Health Long Beach, CA is seeking a dedicated X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant to perform radiographic imaging and provide essential clinical support in a busy imaging department.

You will prepare patients, assist radiologists, manage EMR records, and ensure safety, privacy, and infection control standards are met. This full-time hourly role requires attention to detail and teamwork across care teams.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology or limited X-ray program and/or medical assistant program.
• Current state license or certification to perform radiographic examinations, if required by state law.
• Current ARRT registration preferred or eligibility, if applicable.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Proficiency with EMR and basic computer applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine diagnostic X-ray procedures per provider orders and safety standards.
• Prepare patients for exams, obtain consent, and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Verify patient identity and exam details; position patients and adjust equipment for optimal images.
• Apply radiation safety measures and ALARA principles.
• Assist with basic clinical procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Complete patient intake and rooming in the EMR, including medical history and allergies.
• Label, process, and transmit images to PACS for interpretation.
