Assists the radiology technologists and department supervisors by performing a variety of administrative and patient care activities.

Job Specific Performance Standards

1. Receives and transports patients while assisting in answering questions regarding procedures.
2. Prepares the imaging room and equipment for x-ray examinations and assists technologists with procedures as needed.
3. Performs related clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records.
4. Monitors patients while waiting for technologist or radiologist providing assurance that the patient is in a safe environment.
5. Assists patients on and off the exam table.
6. Positions patients for exams.
7. Provides quality control on exams after exposure has been obtained by the technologist.
8. Answers incoming calls and faxes reports to referring physician or units as requested.
9. Participates in portable examples with the technologist assuring that position and radiation safety measures are met.
