Job summary

Vail Health in Colorado is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations and ensure high-quality imaging. The role requires adherence to safety standards, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with the health care team.

ARRT and BLS certifications are required, with a 16% PRN differential available for PRN shifts. Responsibilities include reviewing orders, maintaining VH HIS and PACS usage, and ensuring accurate patient documentation.

Qualifications

  • One year radiology experience preferred.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  • Maintains communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers to contribute to continuity of care.
  • Maintains department policies, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety and infection control standards.
  • Identifies patients and reviews exam orders for consistency with clinical diagnosis.
  • Maintains knowledge of VH HIS and PACS for documentation.
  • Models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and adheres to HIPAA.

About The Opportunity

Performs diagnostic examinations, ensures image quality, patient safety, radiation safety, and patient and physician satisfaction.

This position is PRN or as needed. Eligiible for 16% PRN differential.

What You Will Do
  • Performs all radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  • Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
  • Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
  • Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis. Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
  • Maintains working knowledge and use of the VH HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
  • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Experience

  • One year of experience in radiology preferred.

Certification(s)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Computer / Typing
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
