Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic examinations and ensure high image quality and patient safety. You will maintain documentation in VH HIS and PACS, communicate effectively with patients and clinicians, and uphold safety and confidentiality standards.

One year of radiology experience is preferred, ARRT and BLS certifications are required, and applicants must be proficient in English.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • At least 1 year radiology experience preferred.
  • Proficient with VH HIS and PACS systems.
  • HIPAA compliance and patient safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all radiographic examinations per Vail Health protocols.
  • Maintain collaborative communication with patients and health care team to support continuity of care.
  • Adhere to department policies, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, infection control, and universal precautions.
  • Identify patient and review exam order and demographic information for accuracy.
  • Maintain knowledge and use of VH HIS and PACS for proper documentation.
  • Model Just Culture and organizational values; perform other duties as assigned.

About the opportunity:

Performs diagnostic examinations, ensures image quality, patient safety, radiation safety, and patient and physician satisfaction.

What you will do:
  1. Performs all radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  2. Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co‑workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
  3. Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
  4. Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis. Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
  5. Maintains working knowledge and use of the VH HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
  6. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Experience:
  • One year of experience in radiology preferred.
License(s):

Certification(s):
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job‑specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
