Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a radiologic technologist to perform prescribed imaging procedures with minimal supervision. You will position patients, operate imaging equipment, and ensure safety and quality of images.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, educating patients, administering contrast as needed, maintaining QC, and reporting results. ARRT radiography certification within 6 months and CPR are required; background clearances apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• ARRT Radiography certification within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Position patient and perform radiographic imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify imaging quality issues.
• Reposition patient and repeat procedures as needed to ensure quality.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.
• Review patient history and orders; educate patient about procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications; monitor patient.
• Prepare equipment, select exposure factors, ensure safety and perform QC on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
