Job summary

Aurora Sinai Medical Center is seeking a part-time Radiology Support Technician to assist imaging teams with patient prep, room setup, and equipment readiness. You will verify patient identities, explain procedures, and help transport patients as needed.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an approved Radiologic Technology program, in their 2nd year of clinical training (IL hires), with completed 12 months of radiology training and a strong focus on patient safety and communication.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program.
• IL hires must be students from an accredited radiology program and in 2nd year of clinical training.
• Completion of a minimum of 12 months training in an accredited radiology program.
• Expected completion and competencies verified by program director from ARRT-accredited radiography programs.
• Clinical competencies inChest, Abdomen, Spine and Pelvis, Head, Upper/Lower extremity, Thorax, IVP, and Fluoroscopy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supports imaging technologists with preparation of patient and exam room per infection control practices.
• Verifies patient identification and explains procedures, obtaining clinical history and answering questions.
• Assists patient in prep and transfers; transports patients to other facility areas as required.
• Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
• Reviews patient records to obtain clinical information and ensures exam accuracy against physician orders.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors under supervision of licensed radiographer; may not activate exposure switch.
• Ensures images and records are documented in RIS/PACS following workflows; may not review/approve images.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care knowledge and adapts care to life span requirements.
