Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a student radiology assistant to support the imaging department and care for patients under supervision. You will assist technologists with basic patient care across age groups, ensuring safety and accurate handling of documentation and imaging processes.

Must be in the second year of a radiology program and obtain Basic Life Support within 3 months. Position emphasizes department support, timely image processing, and coordination with PACS/RIS workflows in a hospital

Qualifications

• Must be in the second year of a radiology program.
• BLS certification within 3 months (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Assists the radiologic technologist in basic direct and indirect patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient care, comfort and safety procedures.
• Assists in moving, lifting, transferring and ambulating patients using proper body mechanics.
• Supports department maintenance, stocking supplies and efficient workflows.
• Transports and processes paper work and communicates accurately with team.
• Assists physicians and hospital personnel in locating images for review in PACS and prints RIS reports.
