Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry-eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment to complete procedures per protocol (may place NG tubes, IVs, catheters, administer contrast).
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Performs timely quality control and remediation as warranted.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts interaction to patient population and privacy requirements.
