Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine imaging procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. You will serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

This role requires completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or registry eligibility with registration within 90 days, and current Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT-registered or registry-eligible with 90 days to obtain ARRT registration.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based apps.
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient for understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment independently per protocol.
• Reviews images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Performs quality control and notes remediation when needed.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, schedules, maintenance).
• Adapts communication to patient population and privacy needs.
• Performs other related duties as required.
