Job summary

Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist Extern to join our Cath Lab team. This casual, part-time externship offers hands-on imaging exposure while you complete your radiography program.

Gain experience in a high-performing cardiovascular setting, with supervision from licensed radiographers and exposure to multiple imaging procedures. Flexible scheduling accommodates school commitments and may include weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of a minimum of 12 months training in an accredited program in Radiology.
• Anticipated completion, as verified by program director, from a Radiography program that is accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT.
• Successful completion and documentation of clinical competencies in Chest, Abdomen, Spine and Pelvis, Head, Upper and Lower Extremities, Thorax, IVP, and Fluoroscopy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supports imaging technologists with patient preparation and room setup.
• Verifies patient identification and explains procedures to patients.
• Assists patient preparation and transfers; transports patients as needed.
• Uses radiology systems to generate requisitions and check schedules.
• Reviews medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
