Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center seeks a Radiology Tech Aide on a part-time basis to support radiology staff in patient care and room readiness. The role includes assisting during X-ray procedures, handling reception tasks, and stocking supplies in the Radiology - Diagnostic department.

Under supervision, you will aid radiologists, technologists and nurses, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate preparation of exam rooms across the E. Newton and Harrison Avenue campuses.

Qualifications

• Requires high school knowledge in reading/writing (English) and arithmetic to understand instructions and prepare materials.
• Knowledge of work routines, procedures, and equipment to prepare X-ray rooms and stock supplies.
• Minimal analytical ability required; good interpersonal/communication skills for patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists, technologists and nurses in technical and patient care duties.
• Maintain supplies and keep exam rooms prepared for patients.
• Assist patients during exam procedures including portable exams.
• Handle reception and clerical duties as required.
• May perform duties in other areas at BMCHS E. Newton or Harrison Avenue campuses.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, assists the radiologists, technologists and nurses in technical and patient care duties.Maintains supplies and keeps exam rooms prepared and ready for patients. Assists patients during exam procedures including portable exam procedures.Handles reception and clerical duties as required. Duties may also be required in other areas as necessary at either the E. Newton or Harrison Avenue Campuses.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

• Requires a high school level of knowledge in reading and writing (in English) and arithmetic in order to understand written and oral instructions, prepare barium mixtures and deal effectively with people.
• Requires knowledge of work routines, procedures, materials and equipment in order to prepare rooms for x-ray procedures, perform sterilization duties and stock rooms with supplies. Such knowledge is normally acquired during one to three months of on-the-job training.
• Requires minimal analytical ability.
• Requires interpersonal skills and communications skills in order to provide information, reassurance and support to patients in somewhat difficult situations.
• Preference given to those individuals who have successfully completed medical terminology and basic patient care courses.

Compensation Range

$16.29- $24.21
