Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ, seeks a day shift, PRN Cardiac Catheterization Lab Radiology Technologist to join our Radiology team.

You will perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, verify patient identity, reduce radiation exposure, and document results in the EMR. Prioritizes patient comfort and HIPAA compliance. NJ licensure ARRT and BLS within 14 days are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam using two identifiers.
• Gain patient cooperation by explaining procedures and addressing questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, ORs, and ED.
• Provide lead shielding to minimize radiation exposure.
• Accept assignments per the Medical Imaging Coordinator.
• Enter data in the EMR.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with required instruments.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam, utilizing two patient identifiers according to hospital policy.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Provide a lead protective shield for patients, reducing radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
• Accept all assignments as prescribed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignment and work to be completed.
• Enter data utilizing electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain policies and procedures as they relate to HIPAA compliance.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
