Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Montclair, NJ is seeking a day shift, PRN Cardiac Catheterization Lab Radiology Technologist. The role performs diagnostic radiographic exams and works closely with the Medical Imaging team to support patient care.

Responsibilities include patient identification, portable X-ray exams, radiation safety, data entry into EMR, and maintaining HIPAA compliance. High school diploma and NJ radiology licensure with ARRT and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure (ARRT) required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam using two identifiers according to hospital policy.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Provide lead shielding to minimize radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
• Accept assignments as directed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignment and work to be completed.
• Enter data into electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain policies and procedures as they relate to HIPAA compliance.

• The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam, utilizing two patient identifiers according to hospital policy.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Provide a lead protective shield for patients, reducing radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
• Accept all assignments as prescribed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignment and work to be completed.
• Enter data utilizing electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain policies and procedures as they relate to HIPAA compliance.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
