Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Montclair, NJ is seeking a variable-shift, PRN Cardiac Catheterization Lab Radiology Technologist to join our clinical imaging team.

The Radiologic Technologist will obtain diagnostic studies, verify patient identity, calm anxious patients, perform portable X-ray exams in rooms, ORs, and the emergency department, provide lead shielding, enter data into EMR, prepare rooms, and uphold HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam, using two patient identifiers.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Provide lead shielding to patients to minimize radiation exposure.
• Accept assignments as prescribed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator and complete work accordingly.
• Enter data using electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance with policies and procedures.

• The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam, utilizing two patient identifiers according to hospital policy.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Provide a lead protective shield for patients, reducing radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
• Accept all assignments as prescribed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignment and work to be completed.
• Enter data utilizing electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain policies and procedures as they relate to HIPAA compliance.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
