Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• One year of clinical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients on arrival and facilitates department experience.
• Answers calls, identifies self and unit.
• Verifies orders and notifies physicians of inaccuracies.
• Supports radiologic technologists in imaging procedures.
• Prepares patients for basic examinations per department procedure.
• Informs staff of patient arrival for appointment.
• Assesses patient comfort and provides support accordingly.
• Provides direct patient care to facilitate routine imaging.
• Safely assists in transport per patient handling policy.
• Escorts patients to/from procedure room and assists with arrival/departure.
• Maintains clean and safe environment to help prevent infection.
• Promotes teamwork with technical, nursing, residents and medical staff.
• Observes and reports patient concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assists in routine unit operations to assure smooth communication.
• Coordinates outpatient/inpatient workflow between department and floors.
• Assists with gowning and basic physical care to promote comfort.
• Engages in problem solving and systems implementation to support care.
• Transports inpatients and ED patients to imaging.
• Transports patients back to ED after imaging.
