Job summary

Copley Hospital in Morrisville/Morristown, VT is seeking a Patient Engagement Specialist - Tier I for Radiology to handle scheduling, registrations, and basic patient communications. You will coordinate exams across modalities, verify orders and insurance, and support prior authorizations while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

This full-time role may offer additional shifts (full-time, part-time, per diem) and requires strong customer service, organization, and EMR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year in healthcare, customer service, scheduling, registration, or administrative setting preferred.
• Experience with EMR and scheduling systems; medical terminology and basic anatomy helpful.
• Insurance verification or prior authorization experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates radiology appointments by phone, in person, and online; provides prep and arrival instructions.
• Learns exam requirements, protocols, and preparation instructions for every modality.
• Reviews orders for completeness and medical necessity; contacts providers as needed.
• Adjusts schedules for cancellations and urgent needs across Radiology and other departments.
• Greets, registers, and checks in patients; verifies identity, demographics, and insurance.
• Supports prior authorizations with referral providers and insurer portals; follows up on incomplete orders.
• Enters orders and authorizations into the medical record; handles faxes and report distribution.
• Answers department phone and routes calls to the correct person.
• Maintains documentation in CPSI, eClinicalWorks, Nucleus, Infinitt, Zoom and Office apps.
• Escalates complex issues to Tier II/III or Radiology Director when needed.
