Description The Radiology Resource Assistant (RRA) position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job. It is recognized other related duties not specifically mentioned might also be performed, and not all responsibilities may be carried out depending on operational needs. As a member of the Radiology Team and under the supervision and direction of a registered technologist, registered nurse and/or a radiologist, the Radiology Resource Assistant will assist in the delivery of patient care to pediatric radiology patients in a safe and organized manner.
The RRA will be responsible to assist technologists, RNs, and radiologists before, during, and after radiology exams. The RRA transports patients (inpatient, outpatient and ED). The RRA coordinates patient flow, communicates with patients about status, schedule issues, and/or delays. The RRA answers phones and takes messages for technologists, RNs, and/or radiologists. In addition, the RRA provides assistance to providers requesting radiology imaging CD uploads into the PACS system. The RRA supports technologists in stocking rooms, cleaning, checking supplies for expiration, preparing patients for their radiology exam, and expediting the turnover of imaging rooms.
Qualifications
Qualifications Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
1 year At least 1 year of experience in a patient care setting. Student or volunteer experience may be considered. (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Possess good oral and written communication skills.
Possess good organizational skills and pays attention to detail.
Demonstrate professionalism during all patient, staff, and family interactions.
Able to maintain composure and focus on assigned tasks in a high stress environment.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR certification must be earned prior to the RRA working independently. Upon Hire (Required)
