Job summary

Advocate Health in Burlington, VT is seeking a part-time Radiology Assistant to support patient preparation, scheduling, and collaboration with radiologists and technologists. The role involves wrapping clinical tasks, basic patient instruction, and ensuring clean, organized imaging spaces.

The position requires no prior experience and offers cross-functional exposure within radiology, with a 20-hour workweek and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient in preparation for exam and provide basic instruction for routine procedures; transport and escort patients, families, and visitors as needed.
• Use radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
• Organize and prepare exam rooms and work areas; clean, stock supplies, and maintain equipment.
• Greet patients/visitors; respond to routine requests; answer calls and schedule appointments.
• Act as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provide radiology reports/images to staff or patients; file/retrieve health information and organize film jackets.
• Document information and communicate observations to physicians and health care team.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment; sterilize and care for instruments.
• Assist with screening and documentation of MRI implants as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge to provide age-appropriate care across patients' lifespans.
