Job summary

Advocate Health's Radiology department in Cartersville, GA is seeking a full-time Patient Access Representative. You will greet patients, monitor flow, complete registrations for walk-ins, verify demographics and insurance, and assist with collecting patient responsibility and scheduling follow-ups.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, HIPAA and EMTALA compliance, and proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and ADT systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; patient access and billing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules and insurance pre-certification requirements.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and communication skills for accurate data handling.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, monitors flow, and ensures courteous care.
• Verifies demographics, insurance information and completes registrations.
• Obtains and collects patient financial liability and discusses out-of-pocket costs.
• Supports financial clearance and refers to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Schedules follow-ups and completes visit checkout with documents.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and processes for pre-authorization.
