Job summary

Calvert Health System is seeking an experienced Radiology Nurse to assess, plan, and care for patients through all phases of radiology procedures. You will perform line checks, assist with IV access, and employ sedation techniques as needed across CVAD, radiology, and interventional services.

Ideal candidates will have Maryland RN licensure and CVAD experience, with PICC certification preferred. Strong communication and safety focus are essential in this fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Maryland RN license and PICC certification preferred.
• Experience with CVAD, radiology and interventional services.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and care for patients undergoing radiology procedures.

Job description

The Radiology Nurse assesses, plans, and cares for patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures through all phases of care from pre-procedure to post-procedure recovery. Performs duties involving Central Venous Access Device (CVAD), radiology, cardiac catheter, and interventional services throughout the facility to include performing line checks, sedation techniques, and assisting with IV access as needed.

Education

High school diploma and graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Registration/Certification/Licensure

Current RN licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing

PICC certification, preferred

Experience

Position requires 2-3 years experience in Nursing with CVAD experience. Critical care background preferred.

Other Requirements

Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.

Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.

Effectively performs moderate sedation techniques.
