Job summary

CalvertHealth is seeking a Radiology Nurse to assess and care for patients through all phases of radiology procedures, from pre-procedure planning to post-procedure recovery. The role includes line checks, CVAD management, and assisting with sedation as needed in a multi-disciplinary radiology setting.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of nursing experience with CVAD and Maryland RN licensure, with PICC certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Maryland RN licensure required by the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
• 2–3 years nursing experience with CVAD; critical care background preferred.
• PICC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and provide care for patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic radiology procedures.
• Perform line checks and assist with CVAD, radiology, and interventional services.
• Utilize moderate sedation techniques and assist with IV access as needed.
• Provide pre-procedure to post-procedure care and recovery.
• Collaborate with radiology, catheterization, and interventional teams throughout the facility.

Job description

The Radiology Nurse assesses, plans, and cares for patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures through all phases of care from pre-procedure to post-procedure recovery. Performs duties involving Central Venous Access Device (CVAD), radiology, cardiac catheter, and interventional services throughout the facility to include performing line checks, sedation techniques, and assisting with IV access as needed.

Education

High school diploma and graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Registration/Certification/Licensure

Current RN licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing

PICC certification, preferred

Experience

Position requires 2-3 years experience in Nursing with CVAD experience. Critical care background preferred.

Other Requirements

Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.

Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.

Effectively performs moderate sedation techniques.
