Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Cardiac Invasive Procedure Assistant for a 13-week contract. You will assist the cardiologist with invasive cardiac procedures, monitor and document patient data, and support the Cath Lab team.

Requirements include completion of an accredited technical program and at least 2 years of relevant experience; an Associate's or Bachelor's in Science is preferred. Schedule is day shift, 8 to 5.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited technical program is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information into the Cath Lab system and monitor patients throughout the procedure.
• Document all parts of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system.
• Communicate vital patient information, including blood pressure and heart rhythms, to the physician.
• Operate equipment needed for procedures, such as fluoroscopy equipment, film processors, and monitoring devices.
• Complete all paperwork with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare trays and rooms for procedures and assist in patient preparation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to cardiac care.
• Collect information for research patients and communicate with healthcare team members.
• Aid in transporting patients to and from the Cath Lab to ensure timely operations.

Job Description

The Cardiac Invasive Procedure Assistant will assist the cardiologist in performing various invasive cardiac procedures, including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterizations, and other interventional procedures. This role involves careful monitoring and documentation of patient data before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information into the Cath Lab computer system and monitor patients throughout the procedure.
• Document all parts of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system.
• Communicate vital patient information, including blood pressure and heart rhythms, to the physician.
