Job summary

Eastern Radiologists, Inc. seeks a patient-imaging coordinator to streamline the flow of imaging by obtaining required documentation and prior studies.

You will act as the liaison among referring physicians, imaging facilities, and radiologists to support timely screening and diagnostic interpretation. Qualifications

• High school diploma required; higher degrees preferred.
• Experience in radiology workflow or scheduling helpful.
• Ability to communicate with clinicians, patients, and staff.
• Familiarity with patient data privacy and HIPAA.
• Demonstrated professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assists with reviewing and optimizing schedules and reviews the work of imaging and related workflows to maintain patient flow, achieve production goals, and conform to established protocols and procedures.
• Verifying exams are scheduled correctly with orders & prior imaging to ensure optimal workflows are sustained for employees and radiologists.
• Obtain imaging orders from referring physician office via fax, electronic medical records or direct communication.
• Communicate with provider offices to resolve missing or unclear information on orders.
• Contact outside offices, hospitals, and/or other facilities to request prior breast imaging studies, as needed.
• Track and follow up on outstanding requests to ensure timely receipt of prior images before scheduled appointments and proper documentation in Medinformatix and MagView.
• Serve as a back-up to Biopsy Scheduling and MRIs to ensure adequate coverage and workflows.
• Provide courteous and professional communication to patients when clarification is needed or delays are anticipated.
• Assist with pertinent information needed for MQSA inspections and tracking.
• Assist in image review for ACR accreditation for BIC.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory guidelines related to handling and sharing patient information.
• Collaborate closely with technologists and radiologists to ensure all necessary materials are available for interpretation.
