Job summary

Riverside Healthcare in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Registered Nurse (RN) to join our imaging teams in Kankakee and Bourbonnais. The RN will provide total nursing care within Imaging services, supporting CT, MRI, NM/PET-CT, ultrasound, and mammography with patient safety and education as priorities.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical and interpersonal skills, multi-tasking ability, and flexibility across modalities.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Illinois (IL)
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred at time of hire or prior to orientation
• New Graduate RNs starting on or after 1/1/25 must earn BSN within 3 years of start date
• BSN degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to procedures, review history and health status
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain process and ensure comfort
• Assist in imaging procedures (CT, MRI, NM/PET-CT, US, Mammography)
• Monitor vital signs and clinical parameters during procedures
• Administer prescribed medications during procedures
• Monitor patients post-procedure and manage pain/complications
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and lifestyle changes
• Coordinate across teams and assist in transfers and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and comply with safety and infection control protocols
• Be available for on-call shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
