Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Imaging Assistant in the Radiology department. This role supports patient transport and exam room preparation before, during, and after imaging procedures, and may handle clerical, film, and PACS management tasks. Front desk duties may be required as needed.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program recognized by ARRT/ARDMS; a GED or HSED is acceptable. BLS certification may be required.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS awareness and patient handling.
• Must be enrolled in an ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology or ARDMS program; GED or HSED acceptable.
• Strong communication and customer service; able to work with diverse patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in exam preparation and transport between rooms; escort patients, families, and visitors.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment; assist with clerical tasks and film/PACS support.
• Greet patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, and relay information to staff as needed.
• Act as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist; provide radiology reports or images upon request.
