Occupational Summary:

The Application Analyst combines knowledge of business practices with information systems expertise to implement, maintain, and support Duke IT applications. Provides consultation, analysis of user requirements, testing, problem resolution, training, documentation, and user support for radiology imaging information systems.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

This position requires the candidate to live in the Raleigh/Durham area to be able to go onsite for go-lives. NC residents or those willing to relocate are eligible.

Level 1:

  • Serve as an interface between radiology clients and the health information systems division.
  • Provide daily system support, troubleshooting, configuration, and testing of software.
  • Support other team members with application troubleshooting as needed.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call user support on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain best practices in customer service.
  • Record all work efforts in ServiceNow.
  • Travel to facilities within DUHS to support Radiology Imaging Information Systems.
  • Manage user and system accounts, access controls, audit logs, and system integrity to ensure security and confidentiality.
  • Interpret and analyze systems, data, and information with supervision.
  • Participate in training sessions and produce documentation.
  • Assist in project tasks and documentation updates.
  • Suggest process improvements.

Level 2:

  • Coordinate application upgrades and lead troubleshooting efforts related to system infrastructure, security, network, PACS, and system functions.
  • Develop test plans, coordinate testing, and resolve errors.
  • Lead integration testing and participate in project planning and execution.
  • Assist with workflow redesign and ensure security compliance.
  • Research vulnerabilities and remediate issues.
  • Analyze, modify, and evaluate information systems and processes.
  • Ensure system security following policies.
  • Deliver presentations to teams and management.
  • Manage projects and documentation.
  • Identify procedural improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or four years of equivalent experience.
  • Level 1: Maintenance of North Carolina licensure or certification if applicable.
  • Level 2: Certification in application support preferred; CIIP certification desired.
  • Experience: Level 1 – 1 year; Level 2 – 2 years of related experience.
  • Skills: Project management, analytical, communication, computer skills, and specific technical knowledge as outlined.
