DHTS APPLICATION ANALYST (EPIC INPATIENT)
The Application Analyst primarily handles the development, deployment, post-implementation support, product design, and testing of the Maestro Care (Epic) Inpatient Electronic Health Record (EHR). Responsibilities include planning, performing, and supporting application users within the Duke environment. Modules supported include Clinical Documentation, Orders, Emergency, Obstetrics, and Home Care & Hospice. The role involves close collaboration with Epic and other Maestro Care staff for deployment, workflow interpretation, build, testing, and support. The analyst will also provide educational support, cross-training, and act as an Epic Inpatient EHR expert, updating test plans and participating in design and review of new features and bug fixes. Managing user access and tracking changes are also part of the responsibilities.
**This is a fully remote position with a 24-hour on-call rotation. Hours are 8am-5pm, varying with schedule.**
The analyst may need Epic certification in supported modules as determined by management.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a clinical field, or equivalent clinical or IT experience. Clinical experience in an inpatient or acute setting is preferred.

Requirements by level:
Level 1 Analyst
Obtain initial or additional Epic certification through training, self-learning, projects, and exams. Support system use, troubleshoot, and ensure security under supervision. Participate in training and support documentation. Complete tasks within scope and escalate issues as needed. Perform basic workflow analysis and system testing, and contribute to process improvements.
Level 2 Analyst
Perform in-depth workflow and technical analysis, manage deployment and testing tasks independently, build and debug Epic applications, and develop system documentation. Manage reports and support documentation, and contribute to project coordination and procedural improvements.
Level 3 Analyst/Tech Lead
Independently build, test, and debug Epic applications, manage complex projects, lead documentation and prioritization efforts, and provide technical leadership. Oversee system changes for compliance and lead cross-functional efforts. Proactively address technical issues and implement solutions within the Maestro Care framework.
