Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Radiology Associate in Radiation Oncology to support patients and clinicians in a fast-paced setting. The role is onsite at the Radiation Oncology clinic in Pittsburgh, with a Monday–Friday daylight schedule and no evenings or weekends.

You will answer phones, assist with scheduling and coordination, and help with patient preparation and setup under supervision. The position emphasizes confidentiality, empathy, and high standards of patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of patient care experience preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under direct supervision in treatment areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional, pleasant, and effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Assist with patient preparation for radiation therapy treatments and setup under supervision.
• Support radiation therapists with patient setup on the treatment table.
• Answer phones and triage calls; help with scheduling and coordination of appointments.
• Prepare treatment rooms between patients and ensure clean, ready equipment.
