Job summary

Yale University in New Haven, CT seeks a Radiologist Assistant to support radiologists and hospital staff in the Body Imaging Division of the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. The RA assists with imaging studies and procedures for inpatients and outpatients, under supervision, and coordinates scheduling and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Radiologic Science required.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adjust scheduling to ensure coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the clinical indication and appropriateness of imaging studies.
  • Approves protocol studies (CT, MR, fluoroscopy, ultrasound) and prioritizes performance and interpretation.
  • Reviews reports and provides information to clinicians on studies.
  • Acts as liaison between radiologists, referring clinicians, technologists, nursing staff, patients and families; coordinates care.
  • Performs fluoroscopic examinations under supervision of the attending radiologist.
  • Reviews and dictates ED and inpatient exams under supervision.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Assists with proctoring and tracking proctored cases; reconciles discrepant readings.
  • Obtains informed consent when necessary.
  • Provides education to patients and families regarding findings, radiation, and procedures.
