Job summary

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking a patient Transport / Radiology Support role within the Diagnostic Imaging division. Under supervision, you will assist radiographers, prepare patients and rooms, and ensure proper patient identification during procedures.

You will also transport patients and equipment, maintain supplies, and support infection control and safety protocols while showing compassion and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to read/write English and perform basic arithmetic for shipments and inventory.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and protect patient privacy.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiographer with portable radiographic procedures and patient handling.
• Prepare patients and rooms for radiographic procedures.
• Transport radiology patients and equipment safely (stretcher, wheelchair, IV pole, oxygen tank).
• Maintain cleanliness and inventory of supplies; document data entry.
• Support aging-adapted care and infection control policies.
