Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a full-time role at our Jeff Hwy location. The position includes a sign-on bonus and requires completion of an approved radiologic technology program with ARRT certification or registry eligibility.

A current state license and BLS certification are required. Responsibilities include performing radiographic procedures, mentoring staff, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call) and travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates radiologic equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to different patient populations.
