Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine radiographic procedures and mentor junior staff. The role requires completing an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT eligibility or certification, and a current BLS certification.

Strong patient communication and flexibility with scheduling are essential. The position is full-time with on-site responsibilities at Jefferson Hwy.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligibility with licensure within 90 days of employment.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current unrestricted state license to practice radiologic technology.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate patient care.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Operates radiographic equipment and may assist with contrast administration.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Performs timely quality control procedures and reports issues.
• Supports department operations (inventory, scheduling, maintenance).
• Adapts approach to patient population and maintains privacy.
• Performs other duties as required.
