Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and support radiologists in a fast-paced environment.

You will document patient histories, verify identities, prepare and administer contrast, and ensure proper equipment positioning. Registry-eligible within 1 year of hire; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized radiologic technology program.
• Registry eligible; registry completion within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history on requisition submitted by physician.
• Confirms patient identification and validates identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
• Operates equipment and demonstrates proper positioning per procedure.
• Maintains records as required by departmental standards.

Essential Functions

• Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
• Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
• Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
• Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
