Job summary

The Radiological Technologist at Mercy Health – West Hospital provides diagnostic imaging under physician supervision, ensuring safe, high-quality care. The role emphasizes radiation safety, patient positioning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
• State licensure preferred for the performing state.
• BLS certification required at hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and lab info for licensed practitioner use.
• Position and immobilize patient for imaging with comfort in mind.
• Apply radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
• Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories.
• Verify informed consent and complete pre/post procedure docs.
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopy and aseptic technique.
• Conduct timeouts per policy and document accordingly.
• Identify, prepare and administer medications/contrast as prescribed.
